Come Back Jack tells the story of Jack Micheal Parish and his struggle in early childhood with autism. Suffering from "mysterious physiological factors" early in life, Jack was eventually diagnosed with autism. It was at this time that he and his family began their journey Their journey lead them to the Language and Cognitive Development Center in Massachusetts where Jack "began to emerge from his internal chaos" and began to see life anew.Interested in this video? I Am Special
I Am Special: Introducing Children and Young People to their Autistic Spectrum Disorder by Peter Vermeulen is a workbook designed from children or young adults to work through with a parents or adult. The workbook is split into two areas. The first is designed to help people explain how to inform children they have autism and how to use the workbook. The second area is a group of worksheets that children will work through. There are exercises that will include facts, information about autism and, once the worksheets are finished, personal information on the child. I Am Special is recommended for children over the age of ten years old. It can be an excellent source of information for a child with autism.

NINDS: Autism Fact Sheet

The Autism Fact Sheet, published by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (a division of the NIH) is a basic guide to answer common questions and disprove common misconceptions about disorders on the autism spectrum. The site covers diagnosis procedures, treatments, theories on what does (and does not) cause ASDs, and a list of national information resources. This resource is ideal for parents or teachers of newly diagnosed children as well as the general public.

Mahler, a licensed occupational therapist from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Her book is designed to engage the minds of children and adolescents through worksheets, checklists, and fun activities like poster-making and trivia games that promote good hygiene habits and socially acceptable behaviors.
