Research consistently indicates that individuals with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) respond favorably to a structured environment. This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of how and why to implement structured teaching strategies (as developed by the TEACCH® Autism Program,) such as visual schedules, work systems and deliberately designed work materials. The workshop will emphasize practical strategies that attendees can begin using immediately in their settings.

TEACCH® 5-Day classroom training: Setup

Looking forward to the next TEACCH sessions? The Indiana Resource Center for Autism has announced that in Indianapolis on June 15-19, 2015, Catherine Daviess will conduct a workshop that will provide participants with an understanding of how and why to implement structured teaching strategies (as developed by the TEACCH® Autism Program,) such as visual schedules, work systems and deliberately designed work materials.

This five-day course provides a theoretical foundation as well as hands-on opportunities to assess and teach school-aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a model classroom setting. The premise of this foundation is an understanding of the learning styles of individuals with ASD and how to use teaching strategies that capitalize on learning strengths.

Structured Teaching Strategies 2-day workshop

A workshop entitled "Structured Teaching Strategies (as developed by the TEACCH Program)" will be presented by Catherine Davies, one of IRCA's Educational Consultants, on November 29 and 30, 2012.
